'caring for pets and their people' ... in the Hawkesbury Valley area and surrounds. We are operated 100% by volunteers, doing what we can when we can, with the backing of the AWL NSW head office.

Animal Welfare League NSW (AWL) is a registered charity that has been caring for surrendered, neglected and abandoned animals for over 50 years. AWL has a team of 3 full time Inspectors who respond to reports of cruelty or neglect to animals across NSW, and head office operates two animal shelters and a Vet clinic in the Sydney Region.

Hawkesbury Valley is one of 12 Branches located across NSW, managed and operated by local community volunteers. We do not have an animal shelter and operate largely using foster carers and boarding establishments in the local area.
